Healing
What is a Community You Can Believe In if not one that you can also count on when encountering life’s bumps in the road? We are here to support our members in difficult times.
Due to HIPAA, we are generally unable to find information about your hospital stay. Please ask a family member or friend to contact our office so that our clergy may visit you.
We recite a Misheberakh, a healing prayer for those who are ill, every Monday, Thursday, and Shabbat morning, as well as any other time that the Torah is read. If you would like to add a name to our list, please contact Rabbi Howard Sowalsky. Names are traditionally read in Hebrew as “person who is ill, son/daughter of that person’s mother.” If you do not know all of that information, or if the person is not Jewish, we will still include the name on our list. We pray for a refuat hanefesh (a healing of the soul) and a refuat haguf (a healing of the body), so please share names of those in need of healing from mental and physical illnesses. We ask you to keep us posted when, God willing, the person has healed so we may remove their name.
If you are in need of support or know someone who could use a little help during an illness, or an illness of a parent, spouse, or child, please connect with the Beth El office at (860) 233-9696 and we’ll reach out to our Caring Committee.
